Business leaders at Burson-Marsteller UK event have their own say on potential PMs for new government

41% say they would prefer Conservative government at an exclusive event which took place at the London Stock Exchange
London, 30 April 2010 – Burson-Marsteller UK (B-M UK) held an exclusive event to coincide with the third UK election debate, in which more than 150 CEOs and UK business chiefs had a chance to have their say on the UK election.
In a text poll 41% said they believed the Conservative party would be best to serve business interests and 53% believed Cameron had won the third election debate.
The event brought together UK business leaders with leading political strategists including
- Mark Penn, Former Adviser to Tony Blair, President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton
- John Hutton, Former Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise & Regulatory Reform
- Andrew MacKay, Former Conservative MP and former aide to David Cameron
- Lord Richard Newby, Former Chief of Staff to Charles Kennedy
- Sky News’ Jeff Randall broadcast live from the event.
B-M UK CEO Matt Carter said: “The economy has been in many ways the forgotten issue in this campaign, but for our future business success it’s key that the new government listens to the views of business leaders. Although the result is still uncertain, this election provides business leaders with an opportunity to make sure their voice is heard with the new administration”.
