Quantifying ROI of Crisis Communications for the business
As part of a survey designed to evaluate the consequences of crises for businesses in Europe, Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates conducted a total of 200 online quantitative interviews among business decision makers across Europe.
These surveys were undertaken in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain in October 2009. Business decision-makers were defined as aged over 25, employed full time or self employed business owners with significant influence or final decision making power in their business.
Among the key findings were:
- 60% of businesses have experienced a crisis in their current or previous business
- 59% of these crises are ongoing or happened in the last year
- 53% have a crisis plan in their current or previous business
- 59% of those with a plan said their business recovered from the crisis within 6 months – compared to only 42% of those without a plan
- 94% of those with plans think it saved them money in a crisis- on average over a third of the cost of a crisis
