Burson-Marsteller has hired industry veteran, Ben Maynard to join its Technology Practice as a managing director. He will join the London team which serves a raft of major clients in the technology and telecoms space, including Hewlett Packard, SAP and Sony Ericsson. Maynard will also act as deputy Chair of B-M’s Technology Practice in Europe, Middle East and Africa, reporting to EMEA Practice Chair, Chris Cartwright.

UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI JOURNALISM SCHOOL GIVES ITS HIGHEST AWARD

The University of Missouri, the world’s first school to teach journalism, has awarded Robert S. Leaf, ex-international chairman of Burson-Marsteller the 2011 Missouri Honor Medal for distinguished Service in Journalism, the highest honor the School of Journalism bestows. The medal has been given since 1930 and recipients include, Walter Cronkite, George Gallup, Tom Brokaw, Craig Claiborne, Christine Amanapour and Winston Churchill.
